Alice is back, baby.
The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise gave us some pretty great horror heroines, beginning with Nancy Thompson in Wes Craven’s original film. We subsequently met Kristen Parker in Dream Warriors, and in The Dream Master the focus was put on new character Alice Johnson. Portrayed by Lisa Wilcox, Johnson (and Wilcox) returned for The Dream Child, becoming the only character in the series to kill Freddy Krueger not once but twice. This had led many fans to crown her Freddy’s greatest adversary, which you’re free to either agree or disagree with.
Either way, Alice is badass. And we love her.
After spending many years raising her children and working in the corporate world, we’re happy to report that Lisa Wilcox is getting back into the acting game, and she’s also getting set to launch a brand new YouTube series that will focus on her revisiting The Dream Master‘s filming locations. We spoke with Wilcox about the project, and she gave us the exclusive first look at the teaser.
So why is she revisiting the past after all these years?
“As a surprise, a friend of mine took me to the location in Culver City where we filmed The Crave Inn Exterior scenes in Dream Master,” Wilcox told us. “We had a lovely lunch at what is now called Café Laurent. It dawned on me that a trip down memory lane might be a blast to share with all lovers of Nightmare On Elm Street.”
In addition to revisiting the locales, Wilcox will share never-told stories.
“The first series of 8 episodes will just be me at locations all over Los Angeles,” she explained. “They are about 3-5 minutes long and you will absolutely hear set stories never heard before. Nothing TMZ-like… God forbid. Just forgotten memories coming alive. There are also some fun props thrown in. Being from the theater, I just can’t help it!”
Wilcox also teased that other Elm Street stars may pop up for appearances.
“Working on it as we speak,” she excitedly revealed. “Everyone I’ve talked to is completely on board. It will be a blast.”
We plan on speaking with Wilcox further in the near future about her acting career, but for now, she mentioned that she hopes to act in all kinds of different movies going forward.
“I hope to work my brains out! I know. That sounds like horror. Seriously, I hope to work in whatever genre comes up,” she said. “I know. I know. I’m mostly known for Nightmare On Elm Street but I worked in the past doing all kinds of roles in Sci-fi, comedy and drama. I’ve always wanted to do a western and something medieval or renaissance. Fingers crossed!”
Wilcox will begin her trip down Elm Street memory lane on her YouTube channel this coming Thursday, January 26th, with new episodes set to premiere on a weekly basis.
