Sasha is Finally Getting Her First “The Walking Dead” Action Figure
One of the great things about “The Walking Dead” is that it features strong characters of all shapes, sizes, genders, ages, and ethnicities. You’d be hard-pressed to find another show on TV right now with a more diverse group of actors, and that’s just one of the many aspects of the AMC series that I admire. That representation, we’ve been happy to see, extends to the toy shelf.
ComicBook.com just unveiled the very first action figure of Sonequa Martin-Green’s Sasha from McFarlane’s long-running “The Walking Dead” toy line. The 5″ figure, exclusively hitting Walgreens this coming July, is based on the character’s Season 7 appearance, and it features a spectacular likeness of Sasha taken from 3D scans of actress Sonequa Martin-Green.
The figure comes packaged with a scoped assault rifle, pistol, and knife. Like all the toys in the line, it’s designed with 22+ points of articulation for dynamic posing.
Per McFarlane’s official description:
Fierce and pragmatic with a dead-eye shot, Sasha is a formidable individual, yet is no stranger to the harsh reality of the state of the world. Hardened by the loss of those she loves, Sasha became distant and detached from the fellow survivors, but finds purpose in strengthening their community instead of dwelling in her grief.
Check out the Sasha toy below and look for her this summer!

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
