‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Will Begin Filming This Summer

Godzilla returned to America in 2014. In 2019, he’s coming back.

We recently learned that Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus) will be the man in the director’s chair for the newly-titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a sequel to Gareth Edward’s 2014 incarnation of Godzilla. And honestly, I’m not sure I’d be as excited as I am right now if it wasn’t for the inspired choice. Dougherty is one hell of a visionary filmmaker, and he damn sure knows a thing or two about monsters, so I cannot wait to see what he does with the Big G.

Omega Underground just got the scoop that the 2019 sequel will begin filming on June 19th, 2017, the shoot taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.

The film is currently dated for Mar. 22, 2019, with Godzilla vs. Kong set for May 29, 2020.

Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”) will star.
