Sure seems like the suburban setting has just been confirmed.
THR reports today that Shane Black’s now-filming reboot The Predator just added “Chuck” star Yvonne Strahovski (above) to its quickly-growing cast. Strahovski will play the mother to Jacob Tremblay’s character, a troubled young boy who is accidentally drawn into the conflict with the fierce alien creatures by her ex-husband, played by Boyd Holbrook.
Predators in suburbia. Yes please.
The cast also includes Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, and Alfie Allen.
As we recently told you, it’s been rumored that the new film will feature a 10-foot-tall, genetically enhanced Predator. It’s also been rumored to be set in the suburbs. Boyd Holbrook recently called The Predator a horror/sci-fi/western, and Black noted that it will be gory and rated R.
Kyle Strauts will play the Predator.
Black co-wrote the script with Fred Dekker and is directing.
Twentieth Century Fox’s reboot will arrive February 9th, 2018.
