Sneak Peek: “The Walking Dead” Heads to the Amusement Park This Sunday!

“The Walking Dead” is about to go full Zombieland.

The seventh season of “The Walking Dead” started off on such a brutally depressing note that many viewers vowed to never watch the show again. The one-two punch of Glenn and Abraham being gruesomely dispatched by Negan was incredibly upsetting and hard to watch, and the horror of that event permeated the first half of the season. But oh man has that tone changed.

The second half of Season 7, now three episodes in, has surprisingly delivered some of the show’s most fun moments to date. Rick and friends have got their mojo back, and highlights of the show’s hugely entertaining tonal shift have included two sequences that we shined our spotlights on: the massive “zombie clothesline” and Rick’s battle with the coolest zombie ever.

Last night’s Eugene-centric episode, which saw the show’s goofiest character play Yars’ Revenge and make a homemade bomb, continued the fun momentum of the previous two episodes.

What’s next? In this sneak peek teaser of this Sunday night’s episode, titled “Say Yes,” Rick and Michonne are scavenging for supplies when they come across what looks to be an abandoned carnival/amusement park. It’s a fun setting that we’ve never seen these characters in before, and that seems to be the name of the game at this stage in the evolution of “The Walking Dead.”
