He’s the dream master… of puppets.
Mashup art is all the rage on the t-shirt market at the moment, and when done right, the results can be pretty awesome. Take, for example, clothing company Electric Zombie’s just launched Nightmare on Elm Street tribute line, which includes not one, not two, but THREE different shirt designs that mash together two truly badass things: Freddy Krueger and Metallica!
The shirts modify iconic Metallica album cover art by replacing the band’s logo with the text “KRUEGER” and cleverly adding Elm Street imagery into the instantly recognizable art for the albums Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning and Metal Up Your Ass. The “Dream Master of Puppets” shirt is easily the standout highlight, looking like alternate Dream Master poster art.
The shirts are $25 each, with limited “Dokken Wash” variants for $40.
In addition to the mashup tees, Electric Zombie also unloaded a whole bunch of other Elm Street-themed shirts and products, including Freddy cookie cutters and even “Let’s get high” syringe pens.
