The war kicks into high gear this Sunday night.
Season 7 of “The Walking Dead” has been quite a rollercoaster, hasn’t it? The season kicked off with the most brutal and depressing episode of television we’ve ever seen, paving way for a first half that painted Rick and the gang as victims rather than badass heroes. The tone changed a great deal in the season’s second half, which was home to several fun, light-hearted episodes.
But things have started to get pretty serious again. Our confident heroes are taking the war to Negan and his Saviors, and they’re enlisting the help of as many allies as possible. On last night’s penultimate episode, they raided the Oceanside community and stole their guns; meanwhile, inside the Saviors’ compound, a captured Sasha tried in vain to get a weapon to kill Negan with.
And then there’s Dwight (aka bootleg Daryl), who popped up inside the walls of Alexandria. Dwight wants to help Rick and friends kill Negan… but how the hell can they trust him?
The extended season finale, titled ‘The First Day of the Rest of your Life,’ promises to be an intense one, and we can be pretty sure that at least one major character will bite the proverbial bullet. After all, when “The Walking Dead” ends a season, it typically does so with a bang.
