Remember When ‘Indian in the Cupboard’ Brought Together Darth Vader, RoboCop and ‘Jurassic Park’?!

Why is this not my favorite movie of all time?

I’ve seen the 1995 film Indian in the Cupboard exactly one time in my life. As far as I can remember, one of my teachers showed it in class back in elementary school, and I have very fuzzy memories of the whole thing. All I really know about the movie is that toys come to life in it, which is pretty much the dream of every kid who’s ever walked the Earth. Right? How cool!

What I didn’t realize until today is that Indian in the Cupboard is even cooler than I remembered it being. A user over on Reddit just shared a clip that instantly made me want to revisit the film. I honestly have zero recollection of this, but as it turns out, there’s a truly awesome scene in there where Darth Vader, RoboCop, and Jurassic Park T-Rex toys have an epic cupboard battle!

It’s interesting to note that Frank Oz, the director of Indian in the Cupboard, is the voice of Yoda. IMDb tells me that Oz personally asked George Lucas for permission to use the Darth Vader toy in his movie. IMDb also tells me that the other toys in the epic battle are a Ferengi from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and a Cardassian soldier from “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.”
