“Unsolved Mysteries” Creators Hungry to Make New Episodes
Can we digitally resurrect Robert Stack? Please?
You may have noticed that more people on the internet are talking about “Unsolved Mysteries” than ever before, and that’s because a deal with FilmRise has resulted in the creepy series being put up for streaming (free for Prime members!) on Amazon. Three seasons of the original series can be streamed right now, as well as eight seasons of the Dennis Farina-hosted revival.
More episodes are coming soon. But what about BRAND NEW episodes?!
The final episode of Spike TV’s iteration of “Unsolved Mysteries” aired back in 2010, and the series hasn’t been seen or heard from since. But during an Ask-Me-Anything session over on Reddit today, creators Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove expressed a desire to bring “Unsolved Mysteries” back with new episodes. Furthermore, they’re pitching to networks!
Said the duo:
We too would very much like to see new Unsolved Mysteries shows on the air. We are in the process of reaching out to networks to see if there is interest in ordering new shows. Let’s keep our fingers crossed! We are always trying to find a network, channel, or streaming service that would like to show new episodes.
They also noted that the fourth season of the original Robert Stack-hosted episodes should be hitting Amazon in 2-3 weeks. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled over there!
The series used re-enactments and interviews to retell the circumstances of, well, mysteries that are unsolved. Covering crimes, tales of lost love, unexplained history and paranormal events.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
