Ten people die in the original Friday the 13th. Plus one snake.
We’re always keeping our eyes on what horror fans are doing over on YouTube, and one fan’s new series just caught our attention and provided us with enough entertainment that we thought it worth sharing with ya. His name is James A. Janisse, and for the past year he’s been developing “Kill Count,” a series of vids that break down and analyze the bloodshed in his favorite horror films. What better place to start than with Sean Cunningham’s Friday the 13th, which took the slasher sub-genre into a gory new direction and paved the way for countless imitators.
Not only does James (humorously) take a closer look at every kill scene in the film, but he also provides trivia tidbits and even offers up awards for the best and worst of those kills. Granted, he’s far from the first fan to do this sort of thing, but few have had as much fun doing it.
If you dig it, be sure to follow Dead Meat for new videos every Friday!
