The Deep End Games’ Perception has been in development for some time now, and courtesy of GameSpot, we now have a release date and a new trailer.
Today the team made up of former Bioshock devs announced that Perception will hit PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on May 30th. The devs successfully ran a Kickstarter for the game back in June 2015, and have shown several glimpses of the game since that time. Perception was also announced last month to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, but wasn’t included in the May 30th announcement.
Perception casts you in the role of a blind woman, Cassie Thornton, who must make her way through a mansion in Massachusetts. The home is occupied by a supernatural force known as “the presence.” Your only physical items available to you are a walking stick, a smartphone, and your ability to hear. The hearing aspect plays a big part in the gameplay, as you end up using echolocation to get the sense of the world around you. Pretty interesting concept that seems ripe for fear.
