‘Killing Floor 2’, ‘Life Is Strange’ Headline June PS Plus Games
For those Playstation 4 users who haven’t picked up Tripwire Interactive’s Killing Floor 2, Playstation Turkey has given you a treat.
In a now-deleted tweet a few days back, it was accidentally leaked that as part of June’s crop of free Playstation Plus games, players can download Killing Floor 2, as well as Dontnod Entertainment’s Life Is Strange. Now that the surprise has been spoiled, the rest of the games have been announced, which will go live June 6th. PS3 owners can grab the action-adventure platformer Abyss Odyssey, while Vita owners can download the top-down cyberpunk shooter Neon Chrome.
A 2016 release, Killing Floor 2 has garnered positive reviews, including being listed as one of the year’s best shooters. Players head into Europe where a zombie outbreak has occurred one month after the events of the first game. A group of civilians and mercs have banded together to combat the outbreak.
A BAFTA award winner, Life Is Strange casts the player as Arcadia Bay resident Max Caulfield, a photography senior who while saving her best friend Chloe Price, discovers the ability to rewind time. The pair find themselves investigating the disappearance of a fellow student, and at the same time uncover the dark side of their town.
May’s PS Plus games are still available, so grab ’em if you haven’t done so.
The full list of games is as follows:
- Killing Floor 2 (PS4)
- Life Is Strange (PS4)
- Abyss Odyssey (PS3)
- WRC 5: World Rally Championship (PS3)
- Neon Chrome (PS Vita – cross-buy with PS4)
- Spy Chameleon (PS Vita)

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
