‘Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” Locks In Release Date

After all the teasers and the developer diaries (including some amazing art and animation), Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice finally has a release date of August 8th for $30. In addition, we also have a new trailer!

The game, which will be released for both PC and Playstation 4, has been in development since 2014, and has been taking the unique route of approaching the level of quality of a AAA game, but being half the size and price. The drawback of this is that the game will (for now) be a digital-only release.

Pre-orders are available now, with the offer on the Playstation Store being a dynamic theme, and on GOG.com and Steam, you can get a digital comic short entitled “Hellblade: Senua’s Song”, illustrated by Ben Templesmith.

Set in the age of Vikings, and based on Celtic and Norse mythology, a Celtic warrior named Senua must embark on a personal journey through the underworld to fight for the soul of her dead lover.
