While that headline may leave you salivating for the feature length version of Eli Roth’s faux Thanksgiving trailer, we regret to inform you that we have no real update on that one. At this point, we’re thinking it’s probably never going to happen. But what’s actually coming next from Roth? A remake of Death Wish… starring Bruce Willis!
Variety reports today that MGM’s Death Wish, written by Roth, Dean Georgaris and Joe Carnahan, will be released on November 22 by Annapurna Pictures.
The original 1974 film was based on the Brian Garfield novel about vigilante Paul Kersey, who goes after criminals when his wife is murdered and his daughter is left catatonic after being sexually assaulted during a home invasion. Naturally, Roth’s remake has much the same plot.
Vincent D’Onofrio, Kimberly Elise, Mike Epps, and Elisabeth Shue also star.
