Well, Someone is Crowd-funding a ‘Babadook’ Adult Toy…

In a world where Alien and Predator sex toys exist, I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised.

A Netflix botch turned the Babadook into an LGBT icon earlier this month, which was nothing if not amusing. Granted, Jennifer Kent’s movie provides no actual commentary about anything of that sort, but this is the internet, and things sometimes get super weird on the internet. Mostly, we were just happy to see #TheBabadook trending.

After all, it’s a fantastic movie that deserves all the love.

But now, well, the Babadook has spawned its own adult toy in the form of the cleverly titled BabaDong. Over on Indiegogo, LA-based special FX artist Billy Raygun is attempting to crowd-fund the “creepy and fun novelty sex toy,” made of high-quality silicone. He’s seeking $15,000 to make his 7.5″ dream a reality, with only $216 raised thus far.

“The idea for the BabaDong hit me recently and I thought it would be a great way to put out a fun product, and help a cause I’m passionate about at the same time,” notes Raygun, clearly using a pseudonym for obvious reasons. “I have the completed sculpt, but I am waiting to see if the demand is high enough before I sink money into the materials necessary to mold, cast, and produce these.”

If the campaign reaches its ambitious goal, Raygun promises that he will be donating 10% of the profits to The Lambert House, a center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth that empowers youth through the development of leadership, social, and life skills. So hey, something good may come from all this weirdness.

For what it’s worth, the $60 BabaDong is dishwasher safe.

Try and top this one, internet.
