‘The Thing’ Fans Planning 40th Anniversary Group Trip to Filming Location!

Don’t worry, you have 5 years to plan and save up.

We only just celebrated the 35th anniversary of John Carpenter’s The Thing (released June 25th, 1982), but something pretty epic is already being put together for the 40th anniversary and we want to make sure you have enough time to prepare. After all, time flies and it’ll be here before ya know it!

June 25th, 2022 will be the 40th anniversary of The Thing, and the man behind fan site Outpost 31 is planning a group trip to Stewart, British Columbia that promises to be the coolest thing ever for fans of Carpenter’s practical effects masterpiece. The trip is scheduled for June 23rd – 26th, 2022.

Site owner Todd Cameron digs into the details…

We are organizing a group trip to Stewart, British Columbia in Canada to visit the filming location and celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the film in June 2022! We’ll spend a few days in the border towns of Stewart and Hyder exploring the site on which can still be found the scattered remains of the Outpost #31 camp set and wreckage of the Norwegian helicopter. Some fun ideas we have planned are a live video tour of the site, spending a night (or two) camping out at Outpost #31 complete with bonfire, and a viewing of the movie literally ‘on location’ synched live with fans around the world!

EVERYONE is welcome to join the adventure, and you’ll find all the details you need over on Outpost 31. Needless to say, this is once-in-a-lifetime awesomeness!

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Prequel ‘Furiosa’ Rated “R” for “Strong Violence” and “Grisly Images”

Anya Taylor-Joy fights the world in George Miller’s hotly anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that’s coming next month.

Warner Bros.’ Furiosa has been rated “R” this week for…

“Sequences of strong violence, and grisly images.”

Furiosa will release in theaters on May 24, 2024. The film will tell the origin story of the character Charlize Theron made famous in Fury Road, also directed by George Miller.

“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Chris Hemsworth co-stars as Warlord Dementus.

Whereas Fury Road essentially happened over three days and two nights, this happens over many years,” Miller had teased during a press conference last year.

Miller is co-writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros.

Back in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road grossed nearly $400 million worldwide at the box office and won SIX Oscars, while also scoring rave reviews nearly across the entire board.

Last we heard, Miller also intends on making sequels centered on Tom Hardy‘s Mad Max.
