[Video] The ‘IT’ Kids Experience the VR Attraction at #SDCC
“This brings back memories of when we were filming!”
A sign posted out front of the IT virtual reality experience at Comic-Con this weekend warns you to enter at your own risk, promising a “virtual reality simulation with sounds, frightening or disorienting images and virtual environments, and sudden movements.”
The sign continues, “Be prepared to be scared!”
IT Presents FLOAT: A Cinematic Experience will remain open to those brave enough through the final day of SDCC. Those not at the event unfortunately won’t be able to truly experience it for themselves, but the movie’s official Facebook page posted a fun video filmed inside the VR attraction that we wanted to share with you today.
Our new Losers’ Club, including actors Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer and Chosen Jacobs, braved FLOAT for your entertainment, and you can be a fly on the wall of their experience by watching the video below!
Step inside the Derry school bus, if you dare…
In the new adaptation, directed by Andy Muschietti…
A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
The kids in peril, the Losers’ Club, include Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor. Javier Botet will play The Leper, and Nicholas Hamilton plays Henry Bowers. The cast also includes Owen Teague, who plays bully Patrick Hocksetter. Bill Skarsgard is our new Pennywise.
The film will be in theaters September 8, 2017.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
