Some of the coolest people to follow on social media are artists who primarily work on movies, whether they’re concept artists or makeup effects artists. They often share all kinds of behind the scenes goodies that you just can’t find anywhere else, so we encourage you to poke around.
In the wake of George A. Romero’s passing, the internet horror community has become something of a memorial to one of horror’s true masters, with fans and friends alike paying tribute in their own ways. Artist Rob McCallum, who worked as a storyboard artist on Romero’s Land of the Dead, took to Twitter last night to share some storyboard art from the 2005 film.
The art showcases the conceptualization of some of the film’s gore sequences, along with early designs for Big Daddy and the Dead Reckoning truck. While there was a short storyboard featurette on the DVD, not all the art McCallum has been sharing was on there. Additionally, the storyboard shots on the DVD did not feature the art full screen.
So it’s cool to see McCallum tweeting them out in all their glory.
On a related note, Land of the Dead is coming to Scream Factory Blu-ray this October!
