Check Out a Rare Behind the Scenes Photo of Werewolf from ‘IT’ 1990!

With Andy Muschietti’s new adaptation of IT hitting theaters next month, it’s no surprise that Stephen King’s novel and director Tommy Lee Wallace’s miniseries are currently hot topics of discussion here in the horror community. After all, it’s always good to revisit the past before embracing the future.

In the 1990 miniseries, the titular villain is of course mostly in the form of Pennywise the clown, portrayed by a show-stealing Tim Curry. It’s Curry’s performance that makes the novel’s first adaptation worth the watch, and I think most people will agree with me on that.

But IT also takes the form of a giant spider and even a werewolf in the miniseries. The latter form appears to a young Richie Tozier (Seth Green) before quickly turning back into Pennywise. We only catch a very brief glimpse of IT’s werewolf form, and the whole scene is so dark that you can barely even make out what it looks like.

That’s why it’s pretty awesome that a rare behind the scenes shot recently surfaced, finally showing the IT 1990 werewolf in all its glory. In the photo, makeup effects artist Bart J. Mixon applies the finishing touches to the “teen wolf” before the cameras roll.
