Like the horror movies of the ’80s, the Goosebumps books are as fondly remembered for their stories as they are the artwork that convinced us to buy them and open them up in the first place. Of course, R.L. Stine has penned every single Goosebumps story to date, but artist Tim Jacobus‘ contributions are just as important.
Jacobus illustrated every Goosebumps book in the original run, bringing Stine’s stories to life with attention-grabbing illustrations that played in your head as you read the horror tales. It’s impossible to imagine the Goosebumps books without Jacobus’ illustrations, which have become downright iconic.
As it turns out, a fan over on Imgur recently uploaded high-resolution images of every single Goosebumps cover from the original run, and we thought ’90s kids who grew up reading the books would enjoy this little trip down memory lane. Personally speaking, just looking at this art always makes me smile.
