Millie Bobby Brown Teases an “Unpredictable” Eleven in “Stranger Things” Season 2!

This past weekend southern Brazil was treated to the first edition of Geek City, one of its most ambitious pop culture conventions in recent memory. While con classics like cosplay competitions and Star Wars merchandise were inevitably present, Geek-City-goers were also privy to an exclusive visit from Eleven herself, Millie Bobby Brown, who served as the event’s main attraction.

During her two days chatting with local fans and promoting the second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Millie answered questions about her character and even delved into some of her off-screen shenanigans with the rest of the cast. Although fun bits of trivia like details of her friendship with Noah Schnapp (Will Byers in the show) and backstage 80s movie marathons were entertaining enough, the crowd went wild when a fan asked Millie to describe season two’s Eleven in just one word.

After retreating backstage for permission to answer the simple question (almost certainly in order to avoid getting in trouble with Netflix), Millie claimed that Eleven would be “unpredictable”, though she insisted that she couldn’t say any more. Fans were restless, however, and the young actress eventually also revealed that her character would act and even look different in season two.

Kudos to Millie for not cracking under pressure and outright spoiling any strange surprises that the new season has in store for us, but what little information she did share was still enough to reignite the discussion of several fan theories on what’s next for Eleven. From the classic “Eleven is the Demigorgon” to “Eleven will have to defeat an evil Will Byers”, the internet is running wild with outlandish rumors in anticipation of more Stranger Things.

Some fans have even interpreted Millie’s claims as a tease for Eleven’s possible turn to the “dark side” as she’s overwhelmed by her powers, which certainly fits in with the assurance that season two would be a lot darker than the first. There isn’t any way to know for sure, but it’s fun to speculate as the new episodes are fast approaching. In the meantime, all we can do is theorize and share our opinions with fellow fans, so why not comment below on what you think Stranger Things will surprise us with next?

Season Two of Stranger Things will be available exclusively on Netflix October 27th!

McDonald’s No-Clips Out of Reality with Unexpected ‘Backrooms’ Short Movie

The best part about engaging with collaborative genre fiction on the internet is that anyone can get in on the action, with worldwide accessibility often resulting in absurd story beats that wouldn’t be possible if any single person was responsible for the entire narrative. And while Kane Parsons’ Backrooms film is definitely the young filmmaker’s own unique take on the infamous creepypasta, it’s fun to see other creators join the Backrooms sandbox now that the big screen adaptation is getting ready for a record-shattering opening weekend.

As if cleverly timed releases like Puppet Combo’s The Backrooms game weren’t enough (not to mention that Scary Movie poster poking fun at Parsons’ flick), McDonald’s official social media accounts have now released an analog horror video of their own celebrating the liminal terrors of the McRooms – complete with a familiar purple surprise at the end of the footage.

While it’s funny enough to see the world’s most recognizable Fast Food giant engage with internet-borne Found Footage thrills seemingly out of the blue, the video is actually referencing a long-running gag among the Backrooms fandom where creators jokingly talk about there being a fully functional McDonald’s restaurant hidden somewhere in level 0 of the infamous liminal labyrinth.

Now, would it be too much to hope for a moist-carpet-flavored McShake to tie in with the film?

Backrooms is now playing only in theaters from A24.
