Don’t Forget New Film ‘Amityville: The Awakening’ is FREE on Google Play for Limited Time!

Forty years later, something is stirring at 112 Ocean Avenue.

Everyone wants to spend October cuddled up on the couch watching horror movies, and if you’re looking for something to spend the night with, we just wanted to remind you that the brand new, long delayed franchise installment Amityville: The Awakening, which was originally going to be released into theaters, is available free of charge on Google Play as of this past weekend.

From what we gather, the free availability is only for a limited time, as the film is headed to select theaters on October 28 and home video on November 14.

In the new sequel, written and directed by Maniac‘s Franck Khalfoun

Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann and Jennifer Morrison star.

Jason Blum, Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala produced.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
