QuakeCon Returns This August, Registration Open

Published

on

QuakeCon, the annual celebration of all things id Software and Bethesda, is back for another year. This year’s edition takes place August 9-12 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. In a surprise change for this year, the show floor will be open for the full weekend.

Also new this year is the Swag Pack. During registration, fans have a chance to pre-order a $150 limited edition swag bag. Each one contains a premium roll-over backpack, a set of three exclusive pins, a stainless steel water bottle, an air freshener, an oversized mouse pad, a luggage tag, and a 36-inch inflatable rocket launcher from Quake Champions. General admittance remains free, but for those attendees wishing to participate in the QuakeCon 2018 BYOC, you’ll have to pre-purchase a package (options range from $75 to $400) to guarantee a spot.

And, as is the norm at QuakeCon, Quake Champions players from all over the world will arrive in Dallas to challenge one another in the QuakeCon Open, with a cool $200,000 USD on the line. The tournament begins Friday, and lasts the rest of the weekend. Of course, Bethesda will also use the event for giving fans the scoop on upcoming games (more DOOM, please!).
