She may be best known to most for playing Lois Lane in the original Superman movies, but two of Margot Kidder‘s most memorable roles made her an icon in the horror genre. In the ’70s, Kidder starred in both Bob Clark’s Black Christmas and the original The Amityville Horror, ensuring her status as a legend in the world of horror.
Today we’re sad to report, via TMZ, that Kidder died yesterday at age 69.
The site reports…
“Margot was at her home when she passed away, according to the spokesperson at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, MT. The cause of death is unknown at this point.”
In addition to Black Christmas and The Amityville Horror, Margot Kidder’s other roles in the horror genre included Sisters, “Tales from the Crypt” episode ‘Curiosity Killed,’ 1999’s The Clown at Midnight, 2004’s Death 4 Told and Rob Zombie’s Halloween II.
With Kidder gone, we have truly lost an icon.
