[E3 2018] Get Your Shark Fix With ‘Maneater,’ an Open World Game Where You’re the Shark!
With the killer shark genre back in gear for films, why not have a video game to go along with it? That’s what Tripwire Interactive is doing with their game, the appropriately-titled Maneater. In this RPG, you play as, what else, a shark. Taking cues from Majesco’s 2006 game Jaws Unleashed, you’ve got your open world environment where almost everyone and everything is your snack.
As you munch on hapless fishermen, divers and swimmers, you can customize and upgrade your shark to up your killing game. Things like upgrading your teeth, to gaining the ability to jump out of the water. Of course, you can also explore the open waters, or hang around in places like swamps to feast.
Right now, the game is listed on its Steam Page as “Coming Soon”, but dammit, I want it now! Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the (digital) water…

The sci-fi thriller heads to Digital and VOD on July 10, 2026.

The film comes from writer-director William Woods and stars Constance Wu, Mark O’Brien, William Fichtner, Callista Crowe, Isaac Smelcer-Zhang, Oscar Hsu, and Murray Furrow.
Maddy Falle, Albert Shin, and Allison White produce. Executive producers include Rob McGillivray, Ben Stranahan, Tom Spriggs, John Hansen III, Patrick Vipond, Jared Blaichman, Jonah Blaichman, and Randall Okita.
The Outer Threat arrives on the heels of Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, circling similar territory. The truth about the existence of aliens leads to danger in the trailer below.
