Survival games pretty much clog up the pipes on Steam, but occasionally a promising one pops out. Developer Big Robot (The Signal From Tolva, Sir, You Are Being Hunted) is the latest to have a potential Survival gem emerge with its latest title The Lights Keep Us Safe getting its first gameplay trailer today.
The Lights Keep Us Safe‘s gameplay trailer sees the player trying not to be murdered by a horde of death-dealing machines in an open world where the sun does not shine. The mysterious and creepy metal monstrosities have a weakness to light though, so you can keep safe by finding and connecting light sources and using them as temporary havens.
So it’s a smart inversion of a familiar stealth game trope. Where you usually hide in shadow, you now have to hide in plain sight. You’ll also have to solve light puzzles and can upgrade a modular flashlight that serves as your primary defense against cold steely death.

Big Robot is set to release The Lights Keep Us Safe on Steam Early Access from October 11th.
