We’re sad to learn today that film editor Pasquale Buba, who frequently collaborated with the late George A. Romero, has passed away at the age of 72. Buba died of cancer at his home in Los Angeles this past Wednesday.
After editing Effects in 1980, Pasquale Buba began his stretch of editing Romero’s films with Knightriders in 1981, subsequently editing Creepshow‘s “Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill” segment, Day of the Dead, Monkey Shines, “The Black Cat” segment of Two Evil Eyes and The Dark Half.
Additionally, Buba was first assistant director on Knightriders, and he played small roles in Romero films Martin (Drug Dealer #2) and Dawn of the Dead (“Motorcycle Rider”).
As an editor, Buba also worked on Stepfather II, Striking Distance, Michael Mann’s Heat, and most recently, the Al Pacino-directed 2013 film Salomé.
