SoulCalibur VI already has Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher on its roster and a healthy slew of custom characters thanks to the edit mode, but there’s another official gaming ‘celebrity’ set to join the battle of swords and souls. It’s android heroine 2B from Yoko Taro’s highly-acclaimed action RPG NieR Automata.
Bandai Namco announced the news today on an official stream, and while no set release date was mentioned, 2B will join the roster soon. There is a reveal trailer to feast your eyes on for now.
It’s not just the android coming to SoulCalibur VI. There’s also a NieR Automata-themed stage, background music, alternate costume, a selection of weapons and more. You can see what that all looks like below.
NeiR Automata is an action RPG about a post-apocalyptic world where androids are fighting a machine menace on the crumbling ruins of Earth. 2B is one of the game’s protagonists and has quite the fan following. That following has been quite vocal about the android assassin making a fighting game appearance, so this is pleasing news for a fair few people.
SoulCalibur VI is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
