Almost a year ago today, we premiered the insanely popular short film Dawn of the Deaf on World of Death. Directed by Rob Savage, DotD told the story of a group of hearing-impaired individuals who are immune to a sonic pulse that infects the majority of the population. As with most “zombie”-themed stories, our heroes must band together to survive the resulting mayhem.
Just in time for Halloween, the same team just released a two-minute horror film called “SALT”! The film stars Alice Lowe (Sightseers, Prevenge) and Beau Gadsdon (Girl in the Spider’s Web, Star Wars: Rogue One) and is pretty cool. Short and sweet, but certainly not simple, the film features some crazy visual FX and beautiful cinematography. This Bloody-Disgusting writer certainly gives it a recommend. After all, who doesn’t have two minutes to feed their eerie little desires… especially a couple days before Halloween?
I’m also happy to say that director Savage let me in on the news that his team has partnered with a well known U.S. producer and that Dawn of the Deaf will soon be turned into a feature! We at World of Death are proud supporters of the “indie way” and are damn proud to see some of our alumni receiving love such as this. Our congrats go out to Rob Savage and his team.
