[R.I.P.] Jorge Grau, Director of ‘The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue’

We’ve learned via Blue Underground this morning that Spanish filmmaker Jorge Grau has passed away at the age of 88, the filmmaker most known to horror fans for having directed The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue (aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie). The zombie film won Grau the CEC Medal at the Sitges – Catalonian International Film Festival back in 1974.

He also won Best Director at that year’s Cinema Writers Circle Awards.

Other films directed by Jorge Grau include Noche de verano, A Love Story, Canticle, Story of a Girl Alone, The Legend of Blood Castle, Violent Blood Bath and Blood and Passion.

Grau’s final film was Tiempos mejores, released in 1994.
