We’re not far out from the release of Man of Medan, the first game in Supermassive Games’ horror anthology series The Dark Pictures, and the developer has released a new Dev Diary video that gives a bit more in-depth detail of the game’s creation. Oh, and we now know the game has a Summer release window!
In this latest video about the horror title set at sea, members of the dev team explain how they’ve created the motion of the ocean, the weather effects, and even the boat’s own sounds and movements. It’s a fascinating watch.
Man of Medan sees Supermassive Games return to the horror adventure genre for the first time outside its rather splendid Until Dawn universe. It employs the same choice-based gameplay and realistic visuals. If it’s even half the game Until Dawn was, it’s going to be a good time.
Man of Medan will be sailing out to PS4, PC, and Xbox One this Summer. The rest of The Dark Pictures anthology will follow
