Born on May 10, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Bingo O’Malley worked with fellow Pittsburgher George A. Romero on a few films, beginning with a role as Sheriff Rilly in 1981’s Knightriders, followed by an appearance in Creepshow as Jordy’s dad and later Romero/Argento collaboration Two Evil Eyes, wherein he played the title character in one segment, Ernest Valdemar.
Sadly, we’ve learned that Bingo O’Malley passed away this past Sunday in Bethel Park, PA, where he had been in hospice care. He was 86 years old.
In addition to Romero’s movies, O’Malley had also appeared in 2009’s My Bloody Valentine, playing the role of Officer Hinch. He later played Mr. Harkin in J.J. Abrams’ Super 8.
