“Lost Vegas”: Tim Burton Exhibiting Never-Seen Artwork in Las Vegas Now Through February 15, 2020!

Back in 2009 and then 2011, Tim Burton‘s artwork was featured in shows at New York’s Museum of Modern Art and LA’s LACMA, and his latest show kicked off today in Las Vegas!

Burton’s first U.S. art exhibit in nearly a decade, titled “Lost Vegas,” will be taking over Downtown’s Neon Museum from October 15, 2019 – February 15, 2020.

“Lost Vegas” is an exhibition of sculptural and digital installations that celebrates Burton’s link to Las Vegas’ historical neon heritage.

The exhibit features “new and previously displayed large-scale work by the celebrated filmmaker, animator and author, and will be staged in such a way as to take full advantage of the Neon Museum’s combination of indoor and outdoor spaces. The show, a site-specific collaboration between the Museum and Burton, will allow the filmmaker to reflect on his creative legacy while showing his love for the Neon Boneyard, which he popularized during a memorable sequence in his 1996 comedy Mars Attacks.”

As reported by the Las Vegas Review Journal, “about 90 percent of his more than 40 digital and sculptural works were created specifically for The Neon Museum and have never been shown.”

Tickets are on sale now for October 15 – November 30, 2019. December tickets will be available in early November. January tickets available in early December. February tickets available in early January. General admission costs $30, allowing for an hour-long experience in the main Boneyard. For $24, a 25-minute experience in the North Gallery is also available.
