Written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, the mega popular Japanese manga series Death Note debuted in 2003 and came to an end in 2006, but the Shinigami known as Ryuk is soon set to return here in 2020 with a brand new 87-page one-shot!
We’ve learned this week that the one-shot return of Death Note will be debuting on February 4, 2020, and it’ll be found inside the latest issue of Japan’s Jump Square magazine.
According to ComicBook.com, the story from Ohba and Obata takes place sometime after the events of the original series, and the above image is our first look at the new tale.
No word yet on if/when the story will be published in the English language.
Death Note centers on Light Yagami, a teenager who discovers a book that spells the end for whoever’s name he writes into it. The book was deposited on Earth by Ryuk.
