Back in 2016, the popularity of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” resulted in Universal Studios Hollywood opening up a year-round walk-through attraction based on the show, taking park visitors through various locations from the series and putting them up against zombies played by both animatronics and costumed actors. Sadly, the attraction is closing this year.
Los Angeles Times reports that the Hollywood attraction will close on March 4th.
The site details, “The area where the apocalyptic-themed attraction is located has been overhauled to become an animal-themed area known as “Pets Place” that will feature a new ride based on the 2016 animated blockbuster The Secret Life of Pets.“
“We continually evaluate our entertainment offerings and are thrilled guests have enjoyed ‘The Walking Dead’ attraction as part of our daytime mix,” said Universal Studios Hollywood spokeswoman Audrey Eig. The good news for fans? “A temporary “Walking Dead” maze will return during the park’s annual Halloween Horror Nights event.”
