Bloody Disgusting is Presenting This Friday Night’s 90s-Themed Edition of Final Exam Virtual Horror Trivia!

Hosted every Friday night by Bloody Disgusting friends Ted Geoghegan and Michael Gingold, Final Exam Horror Trivia has been providing horror fans with a weekly virtual trivia night all throughout the stay-the-hell-at-home pandemic, and this Friday night’s special edition is ’90s themed. To make it even more special, it’s presented by Bloody Disgusting!

Bloody Disgusting contributors Meagan Navarro, Drew Dietsch and Ryan Larson will be participating in the game this Friday night, and you can battle it out alongside them. As an extra bit of fun and some added incentive for Meagan, Drew and Ryan to bring their A-game, whoever comes out on top will force the other two to live-tweet a movie of their choosing!

Final Exam Horror Trivia was founded in September 2019 by filmmaker Ted Geoghegan (We Are Still Here, Mohawk) and journalist Michael Gingold (Fangoria, Rue Morgue Magazine), two horror-obsessed best friends who spent their lives gathering obscure information about their favorite genre. Inspired by Los Angeles’ long-running Dead Right Horror Trivia Night, the duo decided that the East Coast’s horror scene deserved a similar social event, but conceived it as a way to bring together NYC’s marginalized horror and LGBTQ+ communities.

The monthly live event was held at Rockbar NYC, a gay bar in Manhattan’s West Village whose co-owner, Jason Romas, is such a hardcore horror fan, he was married at the location of Sean Cunningham’s Friday the 13th by a hockey-masked pastor. Live events were packed to the bar’s rafters, with well over one hundred players attending every edition.

Final Exam Horror Trivia ran for seven live editions at Rockbar NYC before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event to go online in March of 2020. Eager to keep it going – and to give people something to do during lockdown – Geoghegan and Gingold partnered with online trivia platform Crowdpurr to become a weekly event. This Friday’s edition, which is 1990s-themed, marks their twentieth online game.

The online edition of Final Exam Horror Trivia is available for free to players anywhere in the world. Games run live every Friday night at 7PM Pacific / 10PM Eastern, are made up of expert-level multiple choice questions, and last just under a half hour. Points are awarded not only for correct answers, but for the speed in which players answer. Winners are awarded a variety of prizes from a number of amazing, horror-loving sponsors like Midnight Pulp, La La Land Records, Shudder, Synapse Films, IFC Midnight, Cavity Colors, and more.

Every week, the game’s unique URL is announced via Final Exam‘s twitter feed two hours before the event begins. Playing requires no sign-up, fees, or apps and can be played live on any mobile device or computer.

If you want to play, make sure you’re free at 10pm EST this Friday night!

AreYouWatching.com: ‘The Watchers’ Interactive Website Is Full of Creepy Easter Eggs

Published

Are you watching? Ishana Night Shyamalan has clearly been paying attention to her father, M. Night Shyamalan. Not only is she following in his footsteps as a filmmaker, but she’s also embracing a similar mystique surrounding her work.

The new trailer for her feature directorial debut, The Watchers, gives viewers a taste of what’s in store. AreYouWatching.com has launched with even more clues.

Visit the site to join the mysterious creatures that lurk in the Irish forest as you observe a shelter. From the time the sun sets at 7:30 PM until it rises at 5:55 AM, four strangers played by Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouere can be seen trapped inside.

You’ll find several interactive items. Click on the gramophone to set the mood with some spooky music. Tap on the birdcage to hear an ominous message from the parrot inside: “I’m going out, try not to die.” Press on the TV to watch clips from a fake reality show called Lair of Love. And if you tap on the window during the daytime … they’ll tap back.

There are also Easter eggs hidden at specific times. We’ve discovered three: a disorienting shot of Fanning’s character’s car at 5:52 PM, a closer view of the captives at 11:11 PM, and a glimpse of monitors at 12:46 AM. Let us know if you find any more in the comments…

The Watchers opens in theaters on June 14 via New Line Cinema. Ishana Night Shyamalan writes and directs, based on the 2022 novel of the same name by A.M. Shine. M. Night Shyamalan produces.
