‘Friday the 13th’ Marathon: Paramount Scares Screening First Eight Films at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre
Heads up, campers: This year’s September 13th lands on a Friday. You know what that means.
Paramount Scares certainly does, which is why they’re presenting a very, very special event with Bloody Disgusting: an eight-film FRIDAY THE 13TH marathon at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre on — you guessed it — Friday, September 13th.
From noon until the dead of night, fans can try to survive the first eight films of the franchise:
- FRIDAY THE 13th
- FRIDAY THE 13th Part II
- FRIDAY THE 13th Part III
- FRIDAY THE 13th – The Final Chapter
- FRIDAY THE 13th Part V – A New Beginning
- FRIDAY THE 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
- FRIDAY THE 13th Part VII – The New Blood
- FRIDAY THE 13th Part VIII – Jason Takes Manhattan
This is a true-blue event for Friday fans. In addition to this iconic run, there will be horror vendors on site, themed drinks in the lounge, food trucks outside, photo ops throughout the theater, and our very own BloodyFM podcast Halloweenies: A Horror Franchise to host trivia/prizes between every film. In fact, they’ll be giving away one big Survivor’s Kit at the very end to one lucky fan who survives all eight films.
If you can’t make it to Chicago, here’s some good news, camper: FANGORIA and Paramount Scares are presenting nationwide screenings of FRIDAY THE 13th – The Final Chapter as part of their SCREAM GREATS SERIES to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary. The discovery of life beyond Earth leads to paranoia and danger for a family in the new trailer for The Outer Threat.
The sci-fi thriller heads to Digital and VOD on July 10, 2026.
In The Outer Threat, “After making a groundbreaking extraterrestrial discovery, astrophysicists Daniel and Michelle are forced to flee from home with their family — pursued through the countryside by a relentless and anonymous assailant. As their flight unfolds, the line between cosmic revelation and human paranoia blurs, leading to a tense and emotional confrontation that challenges the boundaries of understanding, science, and survival.“
The film comes from writer-director William Woods and stars Constance Wu, Mark O’Brien, William Fichtner, Callista Crowe, Isaac Smelcer-Zhang, Oscar Hsu, and Murray Furrow.
Maddy Falle, Albert Shin, and Allison White produce. Executive producers include Rob McGillivray, Ben Stranahan, Tom Spriggs, John Hansen III, Patrick Vipond, Jared Blaichman, Jonah Blaichman, and Randall Okita.
