In an alternate timeline, we likely would all be celebrating Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her role as Buffy Summers in Hulu‘s reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Sadly, and for reasons we’ll likely never understand, the streamer opted not to pick up the revival series after a pilot was filmed, leaving us all to wonder what could have been. Still, Gellar is keeping herself quite busy as we head towards Halloween, as she had an unexpected reunion earlier this month with her Scream 2 killer Ghostface in an Angry Orchard promotional spot. Now, she’s revealing a Halloween-themed menu for Buffalo Wild Wings, which highlights a vampire’s biggest fear.
The sports bar chain has launched its all-new Fright Feast Menu (why it wasn’t called Buffy-lo Wild Wings is beyond us), which features heaping helpings of garlic, with the chain claiming the new items are “a vampire-inspired lineup packed with bold, garlic-forward flavors designed to give fans a spook-tacular way to celebrate the season.” Gellar helped launch the new menu in a promotional video that you can see below. The menu is available now through November 9 at participating locations.
Here’s what the new menu includes:
- Vampire Hunter Wings: Armed with double garlic, these wings are tossed in Black Garlic Glaze and finished with a Spicy Garlic Drizzle.
- Black Garlic Glaze Cheese Curds: White cheddar curds topped with a rich Black Garlic Glaze for a bold, garlicky bite.
- Vampirita: A crimson cocktail that bites back, made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, triple sec, black cherry, lime sour and fresh lime, complete with a black salt rim and bat trinket.

In the spot, Gellar is happy to share details about the new menu items, but isn’t quite as enthusiastic about sharing her meal with vampires. While this spot won’t take the place of an actual Buffy reboot, seeing Gellar share the screen with vampires in the promo will have to do for now.
Fans aren’t the only ones disappointed that the Buffy revival didn’t move forward, as Gellar had a reunion with her costar David Boreanaz earlier this month at the Emmy Awards. While presenting the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Boreanaz admitted that he wondered if his character Angel would have ultimately ended up with Buffy, only for Gellar to quip, “Well, I guess we won’t find out.”
We can only hope that Gellar keeps the Buffy conversation alive and she gets another chance at a revival of the series.
