Bloody Disgusting Partners with Acast
In just one short year, SCP Archives has reached well over two million downloads, Creepy has hit 30 million downloads, and last October alone, the Bloody Disgusting Podcast Network received a cumulative three million downloads! Whether you’re listening to The Boo Crew interview iconic creators, or the Horror Queers tackle horror films with LGBTQ+ themes, or our terrifying tales, you’re the reason we do this. Now, with well over 750 free episodes across our four shows, it’s insane to think that our audience has grown to such epic proportions!
I’m very excited to announce now, that Bloody Disgusting is partnering with Acast! An endeavor that has been in the works for quite some time now, is properly coming to fruition. Partnered with Acast, Bloody Disgusting is looking to reach beyond the States where we’ve grown as a common name, and grow into a listenership overseas.
When I first sat down to write what would become my inaugural audio drama in 2017, I couldn’t have imagined the incredible support I’d receive. From my co-creators to the folks in the audio drama industry, and of course, you, the loyal listener. Recently, amidst the pandemic, I’ve started hosting community nights, where I and the cast of the SCP Archives sit down and chat with fans. Solely because in these times, it’s easy to feel lonely, isolated, or disconnected. Whether it’s sharing show trivia, or playing a round of games together, I’ve quickly grown to know the people who listen to my show.
Analytics and user breakdowns can tell me the approximate ages and demographics of my fans, but nothing compares to sitting down and actually getting to know them. From the kid in Canada who shares his Minecraft world with me, to the lady in Sweden, training her dog and sharing updates on his progress throughout the days and months. There are tons of you, and I’ve loved every second chatting, and I look forward to many more chats in the upcoming weeks!
Which brings me back to why I’m eager to work with Acast! Not long after I first wrote that audio drama, Acast reached out to me, and my fledgling crew. They were looking to support our endeavors, and give us the tools that we needed to create the show we wanted to create, without the (numerous) limitations that a life split between college, work, and an art project made. It seems only fitting that now, about three years after I first talked to Acast, I’m again getting to work with the ingenious folks that helped me out so long ago.
Going forward, I’m excited to connect with more fans, from strikingly different situations. I’m excited to share the stories that I, Jon, and the rest of the Bloody Disgusting team create, with folks from across the globe.

Here at Halloweenies, we love practical effects—there’s a reason why one of our categories is called “Great Graphics.” Well, consider this a full-length “Great Graphics” episode, where we talk to the effects team behind the titular puppet of Pinocchio Unstrung, in theaters this Friday. As the latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, Pinocchio ups the franchise’s game by featuring a villain that’s entirely practical, created with a stunning mix of animatronics and, of course, puppetry.
