After a whirlwind courtship, the newlyweds relocate to his family estate, the once luxurious Allerdale Hall. But the crumbling mansion is filled with ghosts, and Thomas’s sister Lucille (Jessica Chastain) treats her new sister-in-law with barely-concealed hostility.
