‘Cursed’ – Wes Craven’s Would-Be Werewolf Hit Remains a Big What-If [Halloweenies]
In the wake of Kevin Williamson‘s Scream 7, the Halloweenies wax nostalgic about the troubled and perplexing relic that is Wes Craven‘s Cursed. The 2005 star-studded followup to their game-changing collaboration on the Scream franchise had everyone in Hollywood calling. Sadly, there was also a call coming from inside the house (hint: the Weinsteins), one that would plague the production from beginning to end.
Over 20 years later, the questions continue to pile up, turning what should have been another blockbuster project for Craven and Williamson into one of those legendary what-ifs in pop culture. Together, the Halloweenies take inventory of all the production notes and attempt to parse out what went wrong, what went right, and what could have been. Note: This episode was recorded in February 2025, so mind any dated references.
