If you’re scared of clowns, then I highly recommend leaving this article right away. But for those of you who don’t mind a terrifying rictus, photographer Eolo Perfido has an absolutely stunning series of photographs titled Clownville.
In a talk with Feature Shoot, Perfido states that the shoot, which saw makeup done by Valeria Orlando, “…was influenced in large part by silent film stars like Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, who used their bodies to exaggerate emotional truths that could not be conveyed through speech.”
The images are incredibly striking and beautifully constructed, managing to appear ragged and damaged while incredibly polished and beautiful.
