Jason has his machete. Leatherface has his chainsaw. Michael has his butcher’s knife. All of these items can be picked up at any local hardware or kitchen store.
But Freddy? Oh man, Freddy put work into weapon of choice. Hell, A Nightmare on Elm Street opens up with Krueger actually constructing his “finger knives”, the primary weapon he’d use throughout the franchise. In my opinion, that “loving” touch he gave to his glove really allows for a bit of him to go into each kill, a personal stamp, if you will.
