When it comes to horror-themed dance sequences, I don’t think it’s unfair to say that Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is the cream of the crop. On top of being one of the greatest music videos ever (possibly even the greatest), it also created a dance number that is still fawned over and emulated. After all, who can resist a horde of zombies shuffling and thrusting to that iconic beat?
While Korean dance trio Necrophilia (yep, that’s their name) don’t have a song that’s as catchy or memorable as Jackson’s, they have created a zombie dance that is simply wicked! It’s obvious that they’ve watched a ton of zombie movies to try and capture the motions and stylings of the various zombie forms we’ve seen throughout the years, from the slow shufflers in Dawn of the Dead to the frantic and kinetic 28 Days Later infected. And though they’re not zombies, I’m also seeing some stirrings of the nurses from Silent Hill thrown in the mix.
When you watch the above video, pay attention to the woman on the left at the beginning. You’ll see that her dress goes from pristine to rather messy in the span of a few moments. The woman on the right does it as well, although it doesn’t come off nearly as impressive. Still, it’s pretty badass that they added that small touch to the show.
