NSFW: This 90’s Commercial Spoof Gets Real Dark Real Fast

I was born in 1984, so I remember the 80’s and the early 90’s rather well. Admittedly, in the early 90’s my parents got rid of all cable and basic channels (literally everything) but that doesn’t mean I don’t remember the style and aesthetic of the commercials that were rather ridiculous and over the top.

The below video, which is a little bit old, is a mockery of those exact commercials, which were specifically aimed at kids who would beg, pester, and ultimately annoy their parents into buying whatever product was hip at the time. However, in this case, things take a turn into the dark side…

Pulling inspiration from Robocop, The Thing and other movies with mutations and abominations, the commercial shows a Capri Sun-esque beverage called “Liquid Slam” that creates murderous monstrosities, terrorizing a local neighborhood as well as Dallas Cowboys running back Darius Jackson.

It’s gory, it’s absurd, and it’s a great way to enter this sunny, gorgeous weekend!
