Update: We’ve added the short teaser below.
About a month ago, we reported that there was a possibility that Ghost Rider would be appearing on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.“. Today, that news is confirmed out of the San Diego Comic Con (and by the show’s Twitter) with Gabriel Luna (“True Detective”) tapped to play “Robbie Reyes”, who first appeared in issue #1 of “All-New Ghost Rider”, which came out in May of 2014.
Jeph Loeb, the executive producer and head of Marvel TV, explained, “Season 4 will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider. When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything.”
Ghost Rider has appeared in two films, the first which came out in 2007 and its sequel, Spirit of Vengeance, which came out in 2012. Nicolas Cage played Johnny Blaze in both movies.
