Here’s How to Make Freddy’s Glove For Cheap

Published

on

It’s August, which means that Halloween is only 2.5 months away! For many people, planning a Halloween costume isn’t something that can be done overnight or through ordering something fast and easy via Amazon. No, they have to put effort and work into creating something really fun and memorable, something that will stick out in the crowd and prove that their passion is real!

Perhaps one of the most recognizable and beloved horror icons, A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s Freddy Krueger is also one of the most seen costumes come October 31st. I’m not saying that as a bad thing. Hell, if you love the guy then I say own it and rock that outfit! But sometimes the outfit feels a bit “chintzy” or you’re not satisfied with just ordering a package outfit and leaving it at that.

So, if you want to get hands on and whip up your own Freddy glove to really add a splash of ownership to your costume, the good folk over at DIY Prop Shop are here to show you how it’s done! Bonus: the material they’re using is relatively inexpensive, so I see no reason why this couldn’t be made for around $20 or less, depending on what materials you already have.

If you make your own fun props, let us know in the comments below!

Resident Evil Universal Horror Unleashed

Get ready to explore Raccoon City and sample a Jill Sandwich this summer. Universal Horror Unleashed is bringing the world of Resident Evil to life with a new limited-time experience inspired by Capcom’s iconic survival horror franchise.

From July 9 through August 30, 2026, the Resident Evil takeover will transform Universal Horror Unleashed into an interactive journey through Raccoon City, where guests will travel across six themed zones as they work to contain the T-Virus outbreak.

The experience is included with General Admission tickets to Universal Horror Unleashed.

Guests will venture through six story-driven zones inspired by the world of Resident Evil. Expect to see the iconic characters, too.

As the press release details: “Beginning their journey in Zone 1: Arrival, they are greeted with a battered “Welcome to Raccoon City” sign. As emergency lights flash, police scramble to contain the rapidly spreading outbreak caused by Umbrella Corporation’s T-Virus. From there, fans move to Zone 2: Mission, where they arrive at the Raccoon City Police Department, ready to solve a series of interactive puzzles. As they race against the clock, they’ll enter Zone 3: Infection, where they must enter the heart of the infected zone – a quarantined spot in Raccoon City where the last remaining citizens have transformed into ravenous, flesh-eating zombies. Amid the chaos, they’ll see familiar faces like the infamous Ada Wong.

“Pushing through the outbreak, they’ll enter Zone 4: Combat and come face-to-face with iconic characters from the Resident Evil franchise, including Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy. As terror turns into adrenaline, guests will be at the forefront of the battles between these heroic characters, surrounding zombies and notorious villains. Once the dust settles, guests will be invited to take photos and interact with the characters. As they approach Zone 5: Escape, guests enter the final stretch of their journey, where they must survive the final mission.

“Those who survive will enter Zone 6: Aftermath, where they can step inside Umbrella Corporation and dine on limited-time themed food and cocktails for purchase inspired by the T-Virus and its mutations – but they must be on the lookout, as they never know who may emerge around the corner…”

As for Raccoon City-themed snacks, feast on the following if you survive:

  • Jill Sandwich: Brioche, hickory smoked bacon, bibb lettuce, heirloom tomato chutney, avocado mousse, and black garlic aioli served on a medical-grade surgical tray.
  • The Sewer Special: Beer-battered cod, cajun fries, house tartar, and lemon sofrito served on a medical-grade surgical tray.
  • Brain Freeze: Ube gelato, mango gelee, chocolate feuilletine, raspberry sauce, coco nibs, and chocolate shard served in a souvenir beaker
  • The Umbrella: Tequila, pineapple thai chili syrup, lime juice, grapefruit soda, garnished with a “rotten” pineapple and umbrella

It’s a fun way to celebrate the video game franchise that’s celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. And ahead of Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil no less.
