Celebrate Thanksgiving With Vincent Price’s Turkey Recipe

In two days, it’ll be Thanksgiving, a holiday that for many people means good food, good company, and good times! This is a day when tradition is key to many families, when a certain meal or recipe is brought out that only gets made this time of the year, when relatives that we don’t see that often show up at our dinner table, and all that jazz.

While many people may love Vincent Price for his acting in films such as The House on Haunted Hill, The Fly, and The Masque of the Red Death, there are those who don’t realize that Price was also a fan of gourmet cooking, writing and publishing many cookbooks that were co-authored with his second wife Mary, including the 1965 tome “A Treasury of Great Recipes”. It is in this book that Price includes a recipe for a Thanksgiving turkey that sounds rather delicious as it also includes a recipe for homemade stuffing, which is often the best part of a Thanksgiving meal.

To give you an idea of what that turkey is like, we turn to YouTuber Cast Iron Chaos, who goes through the process of making Price’s turkey recipe step-by-step. If you’re not keen on watching a video and would rather go through the process yourself, he’s also uploaded a version of the recipe to his website, which explains what is genuine to Price’s design and what Cast Iron Chaos added on his own.

Why not tell me what your Thanksgiving tradition is in the comments? And, in anticipation of Thursday’s feasts, bon appétit my dear readers!
