Twitter Thread Turns “Skelly on the Telly” into New October Tradition You Should Start Next Year

Published

Because Halloween deserves its own “Elf on the Shelf”!

Our kids are too old for Elf on the Shelf,” Twitter user Briaaans! (@bpas77) tweeted in early October. “But not for Skelly on the Telly (my wife’s creation).”

That was the beginning of a month-long Twitter thread that may very well have started a new Halloween tradition for families across the globe. Like Elf on the Shelf, Skelly on the Telly is a holiday decoration that comes alive at night to cause all kinds of mischief, and his nightly adventures were documented in the thread.

On Friday the 13th, Skelly jumped off the telly to make Jason Voorhees-themed cupcakes. Another night, he celebrated Halloween proper by carving a pumpkin.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has two awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
