This ‘Ghostbusters II’ Mashup with ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ is Among the Best I’ve Ever Seen [Video]

Just last week, Netflix surprised us all with a trailer for Velvet Buzzsaw, which reteams Nightcrawler director Dan Gilroy with star Jake Gyllenhall. The film is seemingly about a series of haunted paintings that immediately brought to mind Ghostbusters II (1989).

Funny or Die wasted no time in creating a trailer mashup that wonders what happens when the Ghostbusters try to save Jake Gyllenhall from Vigo The Carpathian?

I love a good mashup, but I’ll be damned if this isn’t one of the best I’ve ever seen. The two films splice together perfectly, thanks to the editor, of course, and offer up what would be an absolutely bonkers supernatural thriller that goes as far as to introduce Hereditary‘s Toni Collette as a new villain. This is really good stuff…
